While it is great to have the kids cook these fun recipes, please keep the following safety tips in mind:
  • Instruct the child about the dangers in the kitchen, especially the stove.
  • Repeatedly remind the child about the many dangers.
  • Never allow the child to use sharp utensils.
  • Don't place items that could catch on fire near the stove (pizza boxes, towels, etc.)
  • Do not keep anything that may attract the child near the stove.
  • Don't wear loose fitting clothing while cooking.
  • NEVER, EVER walk away and leave the child unsupervised, even for a minute!
  • Watch out for steam.
  • Remove tablecloths and placemats
  • Cover outlets with protectors

While it's great to have the kids help make these fun recipes, don't forget to make sure the kids are safe! Always instruct the child about dangers in the kitchen - and remind the child how hot the stove is.

Some of these kids recipes obviously involve using sharp utensils. None of these recipes are intended to be completed by the child alone. Adult supervision is required on all of the recipes on this site.
